Second Nature Soaps is an artisan handmade soap company, based in a home/workshop in a rural village in Hertfordshire. The company was founded over 10 years ago, and has built a reputation for producing quality handmade soaps.
The company was established when I found myself at a personal crossroads in my life, and stumbled across the simple joy of handmade soap. It was a life-changing moment, and to the dismay of my friends and family, it was all I could talk about (for a good long while, anyway).
I was frustrated to discover that many of the big corporate brands spent a vast majority of their budget on branding and marketing, rather than on the actual ingredients that went into their products. In contrast our handmade soaps are formulated with honest natural ingredients using the combined benefits of plants oils rich in vitamins and antioxidants, which includes a high percentage of cold pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil found to be unmatched in its ability as a natural emollient, Coconut Oil with its natural foaming and cleansing properties and then enhanced with skin loving butters, essential oils, natural clays and herbs, resulting in a handmade soap that effectively cleanses the hands, body and face without drying out the skin.

Our handmade soaps are made in small batches using the centuries-old traditional method of cold processed soap making, curing for a period of 4 -6 weeks before being simply wrapped in biodegradable paper. Each formulation is fully Safety Assessed to comply with the EU and UK Cosmetic Safety Regulations.
Our aim is to heighten your everyday experience of the
simple pleasures of “washing”.
The handmade soaps with their rich silky lather and natural aromas are scented with steam distilled pure essential oils which help to enhance your everyday, creating a special moment to pause amongst the chaos of our ever demanding lives. They are fabulous in the shower (helping us all to use a little less plastic in our life) and make the most useful, sustainable gifts.
Our gift boxes are made from at least 70% recycled materials using FSC certified paper, printed with water based ink and manufactured in the United Kingdom. All of our packaging is completely recyclable and 100% biodegradable.
Second Nature Soaps attend many prestigious events throughout the year to include RHS Shows, together with events in London and the surrounding counties. We supply a growing number of independent bed and breakfasts with our mini handmade soaps, together with an expanding list of forward-thinking companies with corporate gifts, for their clients.
